Chuk Bhul Dyavi Ghyavi – The classic comedy Marathi Natak of the 90s, performed and written by the legendary Mr Dilip Prabhavalkar, has made a triumphant return to the stage. This revival brings the same beloved Marathi Natak back to life with a fresh burst of energy, heightened enthusiasm, and an added touch of sweetness, courtesy of the talented new-generation actors Akshay Mudwadkar, Akshaya Naik, Mahesh Dokphode, and Amruta Todarmal.
Moreover, on the 25th of December 2023, Chuk Bhul Dyavi Ghyavi marked its 25th show, and VeryFirstTale had the privilege of joining the celebration and experiencing the live performance of this milestone show. Chuk Bhul Dyavi Ghyavi – गोड नात्यांची मिश्किल गोष्ट, directed by Mahesh Dokphode, in short, is a story of the difficult things that might happen in a sweet relationship. This Natak is a cute blend of sweetness, powerful performances, light comedy, and lots of relatable moments.

To begin with, the story of Chuk Bhul Dyavi Ghyavi revolves around a husband (played by Akshay Mudwadkar) and wife (played by Akshaya Naik), the quintessential couple, who are dealing with the ups and downs of their married life in their old age.
However, there’s a twist. The husband becomes very anxious, thinking about the inevitability of death. Adding on, this continuous thought and fear of anytime death leads him to believe that this might be his last chance to spill all his secrets to his wife.
Now, what follows is a cascade/chain of confessions that the husband makes to his wife. This in turn, sets the stage for comedy in chaos and the following situational comedic interactions. And this is what sets the plot of this Natak.

Indeed, kudos to Mr Prabhavalkar’s writing which is nothing short of brilliance. He has nicely managed to weave a sweet comedy tale that is both humorous and, at the same time, emotionally resonant.
You might also see the characters very relatable, and the situations they find themselves in, might mirror the everyday struggles of your and our married life. This Natak skillfully blends comedy with the complexities of relationships, making it a one-time watch for an audience of any age.
Most importantly, what sets this storyline apart is its ability to connect with the audience on a personal level. As the secrets unravel and the chaos ensues, you might get to see shades of your own life reflected on the stage.
Undoubtedly, Akshay Mudawadkar has done an amazing job on stage. His energy and timing are so perfect that you can’t help but applaud. He keeps the play lively all the time. Personally, it’s a treat to watch him perform live. And so is the rest of the cast.
