Thor Love and Thunder is the fourth instalment of the Thor franchise in the Marvel Cinematic Universe (MCU). Thor is the first superhero to get a fourth solo adventure in the MCU compared to other superheroes who didn’t get more than a trilogy.
It is a sequel to the previous superhit film “Thor Ragnarok”. This film was also directed by director Taika Waititi who resurrected the Thor franchise after the first two flop films. This film saw the return of Natalie Portman’s ‘Jane Foster’, who had not yet been seen from the MCU since the last Thor film.
Along with that, the movie also featured special appearances from the cast of the Guardians of The Galaxy series. With such huge names attached to the film, this film was really the most awaited film of the year.
Thor Love And Thunder Story
The story was perfect to its point as it focused on Thor’s quest to stop a madman from killing all gods in the universe. Along with that, the story also included the romance genre as it further explored the love story of Thor and Jane.
It also introduced the audience to Greek mythology, which can be icing on the cake for Hercules fans. The story had its share of twists and turns when Zeus refused to help Thor.
This movie features the Hollywood debut of Chris Hemsworth’s daughter India Rose Hemsworth in a significant role. It deviates from the comic storyline with its unique portrayal of Greek Gods, adding to its appeal. The film also follows Thor as he takes on the role of a father by raising an orphaned girl and includes comedic elements throughout
As with other MCU films, this movie includes a blend of comedy, action, and impressive visual effects, as well as the excitement and enthusiasm of audiences.
Thor Love and Thunder Background Music
The film’s background music was the best of all the Thor films up to date with its entertaining and melodious music. The background music best suited the ongoing situation of the scenes of the movie.
Thor Love and Thunder Direction
Taika Waititi’s direction was exceptional in this film. He carefully chose the perfect angles for each scene and was responsible for selecting the movie’s colour scheme. It is thanks to Waititi’s efforts that the film has been nominated for an Oscar for Best Visual Effects in 2023. Without his hard work and dedication, the film would not have achieved such success.
Conclusion
This film surpasses the first two Thor movies in terms of quality and entertainment. I highly recommend it to all Marvel fans, especially those who are fans of Thor. The film also features the talented and popular actor Christian Bale, best known for his role as Batman in Christopher Nolan’s trilogy.
Bale delivers a great performance as the character ‘Gorr, the God Butcher’. The inclusion of Hercules adds an extra layer of enjoyment for fans familiar with the friendly rivalry between Thor and Hercules in the comics. Overall, it is a must-see film for anyone looking for a fun and exciting escape from their daily stresses.
