First and foremost, I Am Punglya Sharukya Agimahul, by Shiv Ranbhoomi Prashant Pratishthan, directed, written, and produced, by Prashant Nigade is a story of Punglya’s struggle to find his own identity. In addition to this, the natak also serves as an important reminder of the ongoing struggle for acceptance faced by the Fasepardhi community, who were labelled as thieves and outcasts by the Britishers.

As the curtain opens up, we see Punglya (played with utmost perfection by Prashant Nigade) and his beloved wife Matlabi (played by Virisha Naik). Punglya and his wife struggle to find proof of their own existence due to the societal neglect faced by them.
As Pardhis, their daily sustenance often depends and relies on hunting various animals or birds for food. Sadly, if they fail to catch or trap anything, they may have to be hungry the entire day. Sometimes, they might just have to fill up their stomachs with the leftovers from villagers or tiny food pieces that have been stored for more than 10 days.
Furthermore, amidst this struggle for their survival, one day, Punglya discovers something very intriguing while he goes out hunting.
He finds a unique & beautiful bird trapped in his cage. A bird which has never been seen or found before by anyone, completely unknown.
Finding a unique bird like this eventually makes Punglya happy as it opens their chances to change their lives forever with the help of this bird. Something by which, they could live a happy life with the privilege to eat hot and freshly cooked food daily. Indeed, this bird serves as a metaphor for Punglya’s own quest for recognition and sets the main plot of the Natak.
Moving ahead, I Am Punglya Sharukya Agimahul Natak shows what Punglya does with the bird in order to gain fame & recognition.
But that’s not it, this Natak has a lot to offer. As the story starts to set off, a series of thrill-packed scenes, romance, and joyful moments will make you feel very-very touched.
