The story of the American Album Natak, written by Rajan Mohadikar, directed by Purshottam Berde, and produced by Rasik Mohini, revolves around an Indian family consisting of a mother, a father and their American-born daughter. They all have settled in America for education and a better life and are persistently trying to balance their life in two different worlds.

Generally, in Marathi Nataks, we often get to witness stories about families and society. However, the tales of immigrants, especially those who have settled abroad, are rarely depicted. And that’s why American Album stands out in addressing this gap. It shares the human story of an American-based family.
The central character of the Natak is Honey, an American-born daughter of US-based entrepreneurs Hari Kanetkar and Neelima. The conflict arises from Hari’s strong connection to Indian culture and Honey’s reluctance to acknowledge her Indian roots.
